2021 – A year of Charity Inspired by CAM’s ‘Match Me’ Promise

You might have been mistaken for thinking 2021 was officially CAM’s year of charity. Although it wasn’t planned, the launch of ‘Match Me’ has certainly inspired and rallied our charitable troops.

Despite being the leading solutions provider for the tyre industry, CAM’s values still derive from its inception as a family business over 40 years ago. It’s from these values that Match Me was born. We’re not only proud of our team’s professional accomplishments, we’re also supportive of their charitable efforts. Match Me is our commitment to that support. Through Match Me, we double our teams’ fundraising totals and their hours spent volunteering.

2021 kicked off hard with the CAM commandos taking on Tough Mudder; raising money for the Cheltenham and Gloucester hospitals charity. The team undertook the ‘Kiss of Mud’, ‘Mud Mile’, ‘Black Widow’, ‘Cage Crawl’ and ‘Mudderhorn’. Pushed to their limits, our fearsome runners raised a huge £2,474 thanks to unequivocal support from across the tyre industry, doubled by CAM’s Match Me.

In September, Marketing Manager Hazel Shaw, was part of a small team who organised a Charity Dog Show on behalf of Amicii Dog Rescue – a charity that Hazel and her daughter walk rescue dogs for. The event raised £3000 and will offer food, shelter and companionship to rescue dogs living in Worcestershire for the colder months to come. CAM donated £500 to this worthwhile cause to match Hazel’s fundraising efforts.

Later that month CAM backed Programme Manager, Michaela Vizer, as she undertook the ‘Shine Night Walk’ in support of her daughter’s step mum’s fight against cancer. Completing the 10K walk, Michaela raised an amazing £1,040 for Cancer Research UK and CAM were delighted to Match Michaela’s total.

Volunteering consistently across the year, CAM’s Dave Jones continues to coach and mentor the Seneley & Garswood Juniors Under 9 football team. We were also delighted to be invited to be their official kit sponsors. We couldn’t be more proud of them.

CEO Ryan took on a new volunteering role in 2021, as an Enterprise Adviser for Young Learners in Gloucestershire. Ryan’s infectious enthusiasm continues to inspire the young people he works with and CAM’s match volunteering double’s his impact!

2022 looks set to be bumper fundraising and volunteering year and thanks to Match Me, CAM will double the hard work and impact of our team. We’ll keep you posted.
