CAM obtains Silver Investors in People Accreditation

CAM has again been awarded Investors in People (IIP), this time gaining a Silver accreditation following its recent inspection.  The higher standard was based on the company’s commitment to flexible working leading to excellent customer service and support, clear performance targets aligned with a commensurate reward scheme, its investment in continuous professional development in a complex technical environment, and sustained involvement in corporate social responsibility.

The assessor continued to be impressed with the company’s focus on the customer led by the managing director, citing the respect and flexibility shown by the talented team towards its end users as well as internally among colleagues.

Universal goes ‘live’ with e-jobsheet Siebel integration

Universal Tyre & Autocentres Ltd is the first commercial tyre service provider to go ‘live’ with the e-jobsheet link into Bridgestone Europe’s Siebel system directly from CAM’s UniSerV platform.  The integration will deliver greater shared accuracy between the parties as well as improve the speed and visibility of job processing, further enabling the NTDA ‘Fastfit of the Year’ award winner to excel in the commercial fleet space.

With 70 per cent of Universal’s tyre services immersed in the commercial sector, the direct connection between e-jobsheet and Siebel will allow the group’s data entry to be mapped automatically for Bridgestone related work, saving keying in time and administrative costs.  This framework enables all commercial transactions to be completed in both company systems from the data received within seconds of job completion from a fitters’ tablet.

John Folliss, commercial sales & marketing director of Bridgestone Northern Region Europe, says, “This is an excellent development and is the result of a lot of hard work and collaboration between all parties. The integration to Bridgestone’s fleet management software not only meets the Bridgestone Partner requirements but also provides immediate operational information to the Fleet. Integration with new technology is at the core of Bridgestone’s industry leading fleet approach.”

Simon Wright, commercial director at Universal Tyres and Autocentres says, “We now benefit from a complete cradle to grave solution that delivers greater visibility and transparency and eradicates our reliance on dual processing, paper and unwarranted administration. This will lead to improved operational efficiency and help us drive standards in the commercial arena.”

Steve Daly of CAM International also commented, “Universal has been vocal in its ambition to connect directly into BSEU systems for the benefit of both parties.  It’s testament to Universal’s vision and commitment that e-jobsheet and UniSerV are now foundation stones of its business to achieve its commercial objectives.”

CAM Fleet Management Forum steps up development

The first ‘Fleet Management Forum’ took place in January at CAM’s head office in Gloucestershire attended by seven independent truck service dealers, with the aim of discussing how fleet inspection, communications management and contract reporting could be developed to maximise efficiencies and facilitate operations in the industry.

Following constructive and engaged discussions, the group agreed a plan to work towards an extension to e-jobsheet that will enable specific KPIs to be achieved.  The outputs will be targeted back to the dealers at the next UniSerV User Group (UUG) meeting taking place ahead of the CV Show in April.

Kate Neill of CAM, who facilitated the meeting said, “This area of fleet inspection and management is critical in the commercial tyre service area right now. Our goal is to offer participation via a non-proprietary, integrated route. Accordingly, the ‘Fleet Management Forum’ provided an opportunity for us to understand the detail; the day-to-day needs of successful truck service dealers operating in the commercial tyre arena so we can plan to enhance our systems and maximise their business success.”

The recent event was very well attended and extremely productive, provoking healthy debate and challenging discussions that will lead the way to positive opportunities for truck service dealers.  We’re already looking forward to the meeting in April when we will be reporting progress so far.”
